April 2008–Lawrence A. “Larry” Aspenson, 83, founder of La Crosse Acoustical Tile Company, now Interior Systems International, passed away Tuesday, April 15th, 2008.
Lawrence was an innovative contributor to the ceiling industry. He founded La Crosse Acoustical Tile Company in 1956, as an acoustical ceiling contractor in La Crosse, Wisconsin. In the 1970’s he began production of custom sizes and edge details of acoustical ceiling panels for its own projects and acoustical distributors and contractors throughout the upper Midwest. He invented and patented The Revealer for custom sizes, scoring, and edge details, which is still used today. In addition, he invented the Reveal Border Saw which was used for cutting ceiling panels on jobsite installations.
